Arthur Malcolm Stace (9 February 1884 – 30 July 1967), otherwise known as Mr Eternity, was a reformed alcoholic who converted to Christianity and scrawled the word "Eternity" in chalk on footpaths in Sydney over a period of approximately 35 years. Arthur kept the issue of Eternity on the agenda of city workers in the midst of busy lives.
His inspiration came from a sermon, "The echoes of Eternity" based on Isaiah 57:15 (a book of the Old Testament),
A Message from the high and towering God,
who lives in Eternity,
whose name is Holy:
"I live in the high and holy places,
but also with the low-spirited, the spirit-crushed,
And what I do is put new spirit in them,
get them up and on their feet again.
Over the week of 10th to 14th of September Adelaide City Bible Forum hopes to put Eternity on the agenda of Adelaide city workers in the midst of their busy lives.
