This year's Smith Lecture will be exploring the incredible nature of human sexuality, love and desire and how it such a deep part of our identity, emotions and behaviour. It will explore the wonderful complementary nature of male and female sexuality and the interesting aspect of how our sexuality seems to relate to the very thinking of God.
Our title is Eros, Intimacy and the Mind of God.
Our speaker for this year's Smith Lecture is Dr Patricia Weerakoon. Patricia recently retired from her position at Sydney University as Senior Lecturer, Academic Coordinator of the Graduate program in Sexual Health. This graduate program has been noted for its success and depth. Patricia has a depth of life experience in considering the nature of human sexuality. Patricia worked as a medical doctor before specialising as a sexologist and at one stage was the only sexologist for the nation of Sri Lanka.
Patricia's warmth and skills as a communicator mean that she is frequently invited to speak from a professional standpoint on the nature of humanity sexuality and how it unfolds in our society. This brief interivew will help you get to know Patricia.
