We are partnering with Break Free Expeditions to offer another fabulous international volunteering opportunity to Mexico in 2014.
We built a home for Veronica and her family in June 2011 and one for Sandra and Edgar and their family in September 2012, and we're going again this September. This is a humanitarian trip where we build homes for our partner on the ground in Mexico which is a Christian based organisation.
We believe the Bible encourages us to love our neighbour and this trip is a practical expression of our conviction. We welcome anyone, regardless of their beliefs, to join us and make a difference to people in Mexico.
NO PRIOR BUILDING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
As well as building a home, the team will visit an orphanage and feed the homeless in the Rio Canal. On the last night we will end up at Disneyland in the USA. This is a remarkable opportunity to experience another culture, meet some amazing people, and have a great time.
Break Free Expeditions is an experienced volunteer tourism operator and provides safe, quality and affordable volunteering placements building homes for the poor in the slums of Mexico.
The trip will cost $2600 and includes accommodation, most meals, US/Mexico transfers and a $700 building materials contribution. We encourage people to consider fundraising for the building contribution. Airfares, travel insurance and visas are not included.
We're planning to leave Australia on 27th September 2014 and leave LA on 6th October. We fly from Melbourne to Los Angeles. However you are welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer in the US.
