Three prominent members of the Islamic community will discuss Sharia law with Christians in Sydney on October 10 and 11. Representatives from MyPeace, The Forum of Australian Islamic Relations and the Islamic Sciences and Research Academy will take part in the panel discussion with Christians, hosted by the City Bible Forum.
“If the population lived as true Islam taught... I think it would be a perfect society,” says MyPeace Director and panellist, Diaa Mohamed. MyPeace is the group that ran a billboard campaign in Sydney last year. “While this is a sensitive issue in the community at the moment, that does not mean that we cannot discuss these issues in a respectful manner,” according to Peter Kaldor, Director of City Bible Forum, who will moderate the discussion.
The Forum will run on Wednesday 10 October in North Sydney at the Greenwood Hotel at 12pm and in Angel Place Office Tower in the CBD at 1pm. There will be another session on Thursday, 11 October at St Andrews Cathedral in the CBD South.
Interviews and vision opportunities are available with all participants.
