Bible reference(s): Matthew 7.7-12
These words are startling:
'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door will be opened.'
What an extraordinary claim. It seems too good to be true. Jesus couldn't possibly mean that if I just ask God for something he will give it to me. Or, could he? Can we just ask for it?
