Hosted by acclaimed author, historian, and podcaster John Dickson, this one-of-a-kind event will feature a world-class line-up of speakers, mediated Q&As, a live recording of the popular Undeceptions podcast, and opportunities to spend more focused time grappling with our theme: making sense of Christianity.

Rebecca McLaughlin

Author, academic, and theologian Dr Rebecca McLaughlin has emerged as one of the leading public advocates for the Christian faith in the 21st century. Her book Confronting Christianity: 12 hard questions for the world’s largest religion was named ‘Book of the Year’ by Christianity Today in 2019, and she has since written two more titles: The Secular Creed: Engaging Five Contemporary Claims and Jesus Through the Eyes of Women. She is a fellow of the newly created Keller Centre for Cultural Apologetics.

Currently based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, McLaughlin holds a PhD from Cambridge University and a Theology Degree from Oak Hill College, London.

Rachel Gilson

Rachel Gilson is a Boston-based author and director of theological development at Cru Northeast.

She has written extensively for (among others) Christianity Today, Gospel Coalition, and Desiring God, and is the author of the best-selling book Born Again This Way: Coming Out, Coming to Faith, and What Comes Next. Rachel is a fellow of The Keller Centre for Cultural Apologetics.

Sam Chan

Dr. Sam Chan is one of Third Space's national communicators. He is a cultural analyst, theologian, public speaker, author, medical doctor, and karaoke buddy. Sam was born in Hong Kong, grew up and lives in Australia, studied medicine at the University of Sydney, and did his PhD in Chicago, USA. He is a published author of five books.

John Dickson

John’s story is eclectic. Starting out as a professional singer-songwriter, he works as an author, speaker, historian, and media presenter. He has published over 20 books, two of which became television documentaries. John has held a variety of teaching and research positions, including in the Ancient History Department at Macquarie University, the Jewish and Biblical Studies Department at Sydney University and the Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford. He anchors the Undeceptions podcast and teaches at Wheaton College, Illinois.

Sarah Irving-Stonebraker

Dr Sarah Irving-Stonebraker is an Australian-based academic, focusing on the history of Britain and the colonial world and especially the intersection of religion, science, and politics.

Chris Watkin

Dr. Chris Watkin is a senior lecturer at Monash University. His area of study is Modern European Thought, increasingly exploring how freedom and power influence contemporary thought and theology.
