BLINDSPOT #4: "Marriage is the closest human bond"

Jesus and his people are described as husband and wife. There can be no closer union where two become one and that is marriage.

But when quizzed about marriage by the religious teachers, Jesus says there will be no earthly marriages in heaven. Indeed, in describing the greatest human love demonstrated, Jesus doesn’t use marriage and the love between a husband and wife.

So where is the closest love that we can experience as humans? Have we developed a blindspot in our beliefs, practices and habits about love in human relationships? Have we shortchanged ourselves of love and loving others because of our blindspot?

Join us for Blindspot #4: “Marriage is the closest human bond" - as we calmly and clearly call out our blindspots. Come hear how two workers had to wrestle with this blindspot and see how Jesus, His Spirit and the community left them with a better vision of Jesus, themselves and others around them.

HEADshot: Targeting our blindspots

Blindspots, by definition, are areas you can’t see. When applied to life, there are statements we believe, sayings we hold true, practices we assume are healthy but we can’t see that they are under-developed, unhelpful and sometimes, untrue. During times like these, we all need someone like Yusuf - someone to calmly, clearly and simply target our blindspots and call us out … all with one hand in their pocket. During Headstart’s Term 4, we will be channelling our inner Yusuf as we target 4 blindspots common to young workers and calling them out calmly, clearly and simply.

Join us this term because we have those better than Yusuf - Jesus, His Spirit and each other.
