Asking the 'Why' Question

Michael J. Fox has something to teach us
Topics

In the recent documentary Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, audiences get to see a personal side of the actor's life as he manages living with Parkinson's Disease. Amongst his humorous responses to suffering, there is a bittersweetness to his life; love of family, but his body is failing him.

It begs the questions: "Why?"

There doesn't seem to be an answer to the 'why' behind suffering for many of us.

At some point, we still ask the 'why' question. Honestly, the 'why' doesn't always get an answer.

Yet, looking back at history, mankind continues to prove that many times, suffering can bring out the best in us.

This is epitomised in the life and times of Jesus, whose painful end brought forward the answer for all our difficulties. Maybe instead of 'why', the better questions is to ask 'who' can help during these times?

The 'who' question can be answered simply with: Jesus.
