How do we manage burnout?

In 2019 the World Health Organisation classified burnout as an “occupational phenomenon”

It’s now a well-known term that we might hear about in our media feeds or workplaces. But what is burnout? How is it different from depression, exhaustion or other mental health conditions?

Burnout has been defined as a state of Chronic workplace stress that hasn’t been successfully managed. Amy Imms, a GP and creator of “The Burnout Project” says along with exhaustion, burnout can make us feel detached from things that we normally enjoy,
doubt our abilities or feel unproductive at work.

If this sounds like you - you can talk to your GP and start managing your work stress.

Amy also finds comfort in the words of Jesus in Matthew 11 - “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”
