Leaving the Christmas Tree Up

I have a confession to make
Topics

I have a confession to make: my Christmas tree is already up.

It's actually been up since last Christmas—I never took it down!

To be fair, life became busy and it's the kind of tree that measures no more than 50 centimetres. But ever time I look at that tree, I am reminded of what it represents to me:

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

God Himself took on flesh and entered our existence as an infant. In come cultures, it is offensive to imagine the creator of the universe as a baby.

The same God who made the trees was suddenly walking amongst them; breathing in the fresh air and walking the same Earth as us.

When I consider how precious Jesus is, I want to celebrate His birth all year long! Perhaps there is a case to leave the Christmas tree up again for another year!
