The Miracle of Forgiveness
Is there a time limit on forgiveness?
I was confronted by this question in the film The Miracle Club. In this story, forgiveness is needed by all involved in this tight-knit community when they are confronted by their past.
Films like this begin to show how far people are willing to push forgiveness to the edges.
Resentment only hurts the one that holds onto it. Bitterness eats away at the soul, can causes a ripple effect that transcends relationships and time.
Only true forgiveness can stop the pain.
Two things to consider on this topic: one is the time limit on forgiveness and the second is why we should forgive at all.
Thankfully, when it comes to Jesus, there is no time limit in seeking and offering the miraculous gift of forgiveness.
And He provides the reason why we should forgive. Why? Because He first forgave us, shouldn't we do the same?
