Thank God You're Here
One of the greatest Australian TV comedy shows has finally returned! Of course, I'm talking about Thank God You're Here!
Comedians walk through the iconic blue door, and the set and cast (which awaits on the other side of the door) is a complete surprise to them. Every sketch kicks off with the line: "Thank God you're here."
Two thousand years ago, Jesus walked through the door of the home of Mary and Martha.
They didn't greet Jesus by saying, "Thank God you're here!", but instead "If only You had been here..."
You see, their brother had just died days earlier.
In moments of suffering and death, we say to God, "If only You had been here!"
Jesus is never surprised by the scenes of our life.
Instead, He steps in and responds:
"I am the Resurrection and the Life."
Death is not the final loss—we can thank God that Jesus offers us eternal life.
