True Rebellion

How Alice Cooper is right
Topics

What does it mean to be a rebel? To do things differently to others?

Well, rock-star Alice Cooper had an interesting take on rebellion; he once said,

"Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian—that's a tough call. That's the real rebellion."

I think Alice Cooper is right.

For being a rebel means going against the norm—to reject what is expected. And Alice Cooper is saying that it's easy and almost expected to drink and live a life following one's passions; many people live like that.

But Jesus offers a different way; a narrow path, a way of self-control and harmony.

A way, not of rules and restrictions, but a life full of grace and truth. A very different path.

So, who would have thought — the truly rebellious life is following Jesus?
