Why the final episode of Ted Lasso was unbelievable

Does humility win in the end?
Topics

The final episode of Ted Lasso dropped. No spoilers, but...Ted Lasso ends as he begins—super humble. It's not about him. But this is what makes Ted Lasso so unbelievable.

The ancient Greeks and Romans saw humility as a weakness.

So why do we now see humility as a virtue?

According to Aussie author John Dickson's book Humilitas, Jesus gave us a "humiity revolution". If the Son of God gives up His glory to die a slave's death on a cross for us, then this must be what great leaders do.

Great leaders give up their glory to serve.

Maybe our need for Ted Lasso to be believable comes from a need for our leaders to be humble like Jesus.

In the end, we have a God-given need for Jesus to be our leader,

and yes, for Total Football and dad jokes.
