Why is my car so boring?

Finding joy in the ordinary
Topics

My family car is a 20-year old grey station wagon. It gets me from point A to B. It gets the job done.

Yes, but it's also boring.

Where's the joy? Where's the excitement? Where's the sound-system with the booming doof-doof subwoofer bass?

Sometimes I want to do more things than go from A to B. I want a bit of colour.

Life's the same—we also go from A to B. We're born and then we die.

What's the point of that? Where's the joy?

In the Bible, when God's people worship Him—there's music, singing and dancing. This is more than just getting from A to B. This is joy.

God doesn't just want us to just live day-to-day. God wants us to enjoy Him along the way. God puts the colour into our life.

Yes, but I wish He'd also put a sub-woofer in my car.
