Bridge Fellowship Sydney with Andrew Thorburn

Join us to hear from Andrew Thorburn
18 Feb 2025

Pacific Equity Partners
126 Phillip Street, Sydney

At the next meeting of the Bridge Fellowship in Sydney, we look forward to hearing from Andrew Thorburn. Andrew will be speaking on both Tuesday 18 February in Sydney and Friday 21 February in Melbourne (watch-party in Sydney), with the latter meeting also available on zoom.

New Zealand-born and educated, Andrew completed a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland Business School, MBA from Durham University, Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and The Executive Programme (TEP) at Darden Business School, University of Virginia.

Andrew began his career in Auckland as an economist at Marac Holdings, and then time with ASB Bank. Moving to Australia, he joined the CBA in 1997, St George Bank in 2002, and then in 2005 became Head of Retail Banking with NAB. Three years later Andrew became managing director and CEO of BNZ, and appointed CEO of NAB between 2014-2019.

Significant changes in 2022 saw Andrew take on the struggling Essendon Football Club as CEO. The appointment was short-lived (24hr), with a supposed untenable disparity in values between his involvement as chairman of City on a Hill church and the football club. Considerable debate and public outcry surrounded the event.

Andrew has spent time working with entrepreneurs, NFPs and investments that consider not just the bottom line, but social and environmental return. This includes time at ATMOS (a U.S start up climate bank), For Purpose Investment Partners and The Fathering Project.

Today Andrew is CEO of Hammondcare, a not-for-profit health and aged care provider.

Come along from 7AM for a complimentary light breakfast and we will conclude by 8:30AM.

The Bridge Fellowship gathers and connects men around Australia to explore the intersection between life and faith. Open to all men regardless of their beliefs or background, we hear stories of adversity, courage, honesty, hope, failure and success.
