"Gather round people, I’ll tell you a story. An eight-year long story of power and pride, British Lord Vestey and Vincent Lingiari, were opposite men on opposite sides…"

So begins Paul Kelly’s famous song From Little Things, Big Things Grow.

In 2008 Paul Kelly wrote that From Little Things Big Things Grow has its roots in songs like Woody Guthrie’s Deportees and The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll by Bob Dylan. Those songs grew out of the soil of other older songs. Could one of these ‘older songs’ have been from the lips of Jesus - the master story-teller himself - in his parable of the mustard seed?

Come along to the last City Legal of the first Quarter on Thursday 27 March and hear Peter Wrench unpack this oldest-of-old story.
