The recent London riots raise the question of how can we motivate young people to do the right thing?

The recent London riots raise the question of how can we motivate young people to do the right thing? We all know that stealing is wrong. We all know that destroying other people’s property is wrong. But given half a chance, thousands of school aged children joined the rioting and the looting. Many were middle class, university educated who couldn’t resist the temptation of getting a new pair of shoes or a plasma TV for free.

North Sydney meetings taking a break

During September, City Bible Forum is having a break from its regular meetings at the Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney.

On October 5, we'll return with a panel discussion on the question Can there be peace in the Middle East?

Following the panel on October 12 David Ould will commence a three week series. First up, People should keep their religion to themselves.

Two of our staff team recently put their bodies on the line to raise money for relief work

Two of our staff team recently put their bodies on the line to raise money for relief work. Ian Powell committed to eating only two cups of rice per day for 5 days. His mini famine pointed to the dire need in Somalia and Kenya. Peter Kaldor took part for the 5th consecutive time in the Oxfam 100km Trailwalker as part of the City Bible Forum team.
