In a world increasingly thinking with its feelings, people are more angry and polarised than ever before. Tribalism and stereotyping are on the rise and we are losing the ability to debate and disagree well. Our economic, social and cultural order are perpetually shifting, creating uncertainty, tension and hostility in our public and private squares. How can we navigate the scourge of cancel culture, transcend unhelpful victimhood narratives, and recover the ancient virtue of mercy?
