We’ve all heard it said that ‘death focusses the mind’. Even though he knew of his own impending death, something else caused Jesus to be ‘deeply moved in spirit and troubled’ – so much so that it’s poignantly recorded that ‘Jesus wept’. What was it?

Prior to pastoring, Josh studied and worked as an electrical engineer in a consultancy based in Christchurch. A key part of his work was travelling to test the earthing protection systems for power stations and substations across NZ and Australia. Following a career change and further study, Josh now works as a pastor for Cornerstone Church in Christchurch.
